Our Pastor

Rev. Tracy D. (T.D.) Hicks is a native of Denver, CO who was called into ministry at the very young age of 9. He preached his first sermon at New Mission Baptist Church - Denver, CO in January 1982. He graduated from Gateway High School in Aurora, CO where he was an outstanding football player. He attended Prairie View A&M University and Houston Bible Institute.

While residing in Houston, Rev. Hicks served as youth pastor at Calvary Baptist Church and as an associate minister at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

After living in Houston for several years, he returned to Denver to work alongside his father in ministry at Mt. Carmel Community Baptist Church where he began his service as youth pastor. He was successful in leading the youth ministry on two college tours visiting three universities: the University of Kansas, Prairie View A&M University, and the University of Houston. Rev. Hicks helped lead the youth of Mt. Carmel to discover their God-given talents and gifts.

The Lord moved Rev. Hicks into the position of co-pastor at Mt. Carmel where he served for over five years and was instrumental in the day-to-day operations involving the ministry of Mt. Carmel.

Rev. Hicks was called to be the pastor of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Topeka, KS in June 2004. His objective in ministry is "to help people come into the full knowledge of God through the teaching and preaching of God's word."

Rev. Hicks is a graduate of Swisher Bible College in Denver, CO receiving a Bachelors of Arts degree in Christian Education. He recieved his Master's Degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, KS. He is dedicated to the Topeka community, actively participating in the YWCA's board of directors, currently serving as the chaplain of the Washburn University Football Team, and he was a member of the Leadership Topeka 2007 class.

Rev. Hicks is the devoted husband of Joan and the proud father of son, DeAndre Tyrel, and daughter, Tracee Danyelle.
